Colorado Brides Magazine Cover

Just got a hold of the first issue of Colorado Brides magazine, which features my image on the cover as well, as an additional image inside. The images accompany a story about local dress designer Alisa Benay, whose dresses were used for this shoot in downtown Denver. The shoot was done a couple of years ago as a collaboration project with the dress maker, model, MUA, & myself. You can see the rest of the images from the shoot in this gallery for those of you who are interested: Bridal Portraits Gallery

Colorado Biz Magazine’s Top Company Awards Photographs

I finally got a hold of some of the pages from the November issue of Colorado Biz magazine, which featured my business portraits of this years Top Company Awards winners. Fixed Gear Cycling Photos with Devon

I am working this summer to rebuild and expand my cycling portfolio to include all types of cyclist and cycling lifestyle. Colorado is such an active state for cyclists of all types, so I am trying to get out and photograph all the different disciplines of the sport. I’ve been asking local cyclist of all types to volunteer to come out and shoot, and this was the first of what I hope will be a long run of cyclist this summer. The first person I photographed on this project is Devon, a local fixed gear rider. We photographed these images on the north side of downtown Denver in a bit more industrial district, and ended up getting some great light and clouds.

Business Portrait of Kent Thiry, CEO of DaVita Inc.

Just got a tear-sheet from this months issue of Colorado Biz magazine’s executive edge section. This month’s story was on Kent Thiry of DaVita Inc., DaVita is a Fortune 500 company specializing in kidney care and dialysis, and they  just moved their corporate headquarters to Denver. The image in the background in a rendering of the completed corporate headquarters that DaVita is currently building in Denver. I also had the opportunity to work directly for DaVita, this past month as a result of this shoot. I photographed over a hundred of their employees out volunteering around the Denver metro area to benefit “Concerts for Kids”, for more on that and a few of my photos click this link to: DaVita Volunteers

Micheline Casey for Information Management magazine

A couple months ago I did some business portraits with Micheline Casey, a Senior Information Strategy Consultant at U.S. Department of Energy, who was picked as one of Information Management magazine’s Top 25 this year. I photographed Micheline in front of Colorado’s capitol building,  where she had worked for the State of Colorado previously. The forecast for the day had called for pretty heavy showers, but since it is Denver, it never happened. So we lucked out a bit and had some great sunlight in the morning to work with, and not a drop of rain in sight.

CRL Associates for Colorado Biz

Last month I got  the chance to photograph Maria Garcia Berry of CRL Associates here in Denver. She has been involved in all sorts of big projects here in Colorado, and is also on the Board of Trustees at Metro State here in Denver. So it was fun getting to chat with her for a few minutes and get her opinions on a few things.

Bicycling Magazine – Dec. Issue

I was very excited to get this month’s issue of Bicycling magazine. It was a great assignment to go up to the beautiful Horsetooth reservoir in Fort Collins, CO and photograph cyclist, Nick Frey, who makes these badass bamboo bicycles. Be sure to check them out at Boo Bikes, I really want the touring bike personally.

Bicycling Magazine

Anyways, so this month’s issue features 4 images of mine including, one in the table of contents, and a two page spread to lead off the story. Big thanks to Stacey, the photo director at Bicycling, for the fun assignment, and thanks to Nick for being great to work with. Due to a mix up about the direction of the story I photographed Nick before this with one of his bamboo mountain bikes, and we made some great images then as well. I’ll be posting those with some behind the scenes lighting set ups and info as well. So keep an eye out for those as well sometime soon.

All the published images where shot with natural light, so no complicated details there. To check out some more images from the shoot and some lighting set ups, click to see  Read More
